# Neo-Angle Shower Door Seal Replacement

By the [IDEAL install crew](https://idealshowerdoors.com/) · Frameless glass showers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire since 2014 · Updated 10-04-2026

A neo-angle shower has two angled panels that meet the door at 135°. The door needs its own seals on both vertical edges plus the bottom, and they are not the same as a straight-line shower.

## The seals on a neo-angle door

| Where | Seal | 3/8" glass | 5/16" glass |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Hinge side (door to angled panel) | 135° door jamb seal | [CRL P135DJ](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/p135dj) | [CRL P045DJ](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/p045dj) |
| Latch side (door to angled panel) | 135° strike jamb seal | [CRL P135SJ](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/p135sj) | [CRL P045SJ](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/p045sj) |
| Bottom of the door | [Bottom wipe](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/c/bottom) with drip rail | [CRL P990WS](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/p990ws) | [CRL P956WS](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/p956ws) |

The strike jamb seal fits onto the angled panel the door closes against. That panel's edge is mitered (cut at an angle), and the seal is shaped to sit on that mitered edge.

## Replacing them

1. **Measure the glass thickness.** Neo-angle doors are most often 3/8". [How to measure](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/measure).
2. **Remove the old seals.** Pull each seal off the glass edge, then clean the edges with rubbing alcohol.
3. **Cut to height.** Measure each edge and cut the new seal to the same length with a fine-tooth hacksaw.
4. **Pressure fit.** Press each seal onto its edge from top to bottom, with the vinyl insert facing the gap it seals.
5. **Test the door.** The door should close against the seals without being pushed open. Check for drips at the bottom corners.

## Door will not stay closed?

[Magnetic seals](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/c/magnetic) give a neo-angle door a positive close, with a strip on the door and one on the panel. See [magnetic seals for 3/8"–1/2" glass](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/pma10).

## Common questions

**What angle is a neo-angle shower?**

The door and the angled panels meet at 135°. That is why neo-angle doors need 135° jamb seals instead of straight 180° jambs.

**What is the difference between a door jamb and a strike jamb seal?**

The door jamb seal goes on the hinge side, the strike jamb seal on the latch side where the door closes against the angled panel.

**Can I use 180° H-jambs on a neo-angle shower?**

Not where the door meets an angled panel. A 180° jamb will not sit flat at 135° and will leak.
