CRL's best-selling silicone, with additives that resist mold and mildew on the cured bead. A one-part, 100% silicone sealant (acetic cure) for sealing glass, aluminum, stainless steel and most non-porous surfaces in showers, tubs and bathrooms. Sold by the single 10.3 oz plastic tube with a screw-on nozzle; it fits a [standard caulking gun](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/ga1204). Not for natural stone such as marble or limestone, mirrors, or surfaces you plan to paint. Remove all old sealant before applying. Brass hardware? Use [RTV408C](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/rtv408c) neutral-cure silicone instead; acetic silicone can turn brass green.

**Is 33SMRC silicone mildew resistant?**

Yes. It contains additives that help the cured bead resist mold and mildew, which makes it a good choice for showers and tubs.

**Can I use 33SMRC with brass shower hardware?**

No. It is an acetic-cure silicone that releases acid while it cures and can turn brass green. Use the neutral-cure [CRL RTV408C](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/rtv408c) instead.

**What surfaces does 33S silicone not work on?**

CRL does not recommend it for natural stone like marble or limestone, mirrors, or surfaces you plan to paint. Remove all old sealant before applying.

**Do I need a caulking gun?**

Yes. The 10.3 oz tube fits a standard caulking gun like the [CRL GA1204](https://idealshowerdoors.com/store/p/ga1204).
