Sliding Shower Door Leaking? Common Causes and Fixes

Sliding doors leak in three places: under the door, where the door overlaps the fixed panel, and at the ends where they meet the wall.

Under the door

Sliders use bottom sweeps shaped for the system, like CRL P995WS (Cambridge and Crescent, 3/8") and CRL P997WS (Crescent, 1/2").

Where the door overlaps the panel

A U-channel with a long fin closes the overlap, like CRL PCCAM73 (Cambridge) or CRL PCSER78 (Deluxe Serenity).

At the wall

Corner fin seals like CRL PC1090 seal where glass meets a panel at 90°.

Note: these seals are made for the systems named. On other sliding doors they may work if the glass thickness and profile match, but they are not designed for those systems, and all sales are final.

Common questions

Why is my sliding shower door leaking?

Usually a worn bottom sweep, a worn seal where the door overlaps the panel, or a gap at the wall.

Do sliding shower doors use special seals?

Often, yes. Many sliding systems use sweeps and fin seals shaped for that system, so compare the profile before ordering.
